San Diego to Moreno Valley

Tuesday, August 14th was our last day in San Diego. We first headed to the Mormon Battalion Historic Site. The Church did a fantastic job with the whole building and we went on a little tour and learned so many interesting things. They even took a family picture for us and we got to pan for gold.
We went to Hash House for breakfast. It did not disappoint. I got the Snickers pancakes and they were delicious!! Hash House is one of our favorite places for breakfast.
Then we headed off to the beach for the afternoon. This was Brooklyn's first time to the beach so we were really excited. As I expected she hated the sand but once she got warmed up to it she started having fun. But she still hated the dry sand but would actually play with the wet sand. She hated whenever the water would get up to her or touch her at all.
She found a little friend that let her play with a shovel and she loved it.
Brooklyn also had fun just walking around carrying her bucket and shovel and chasing the birds.
She was pretty happy though to get all the sand washed off of her. After the beach we were headed off the Moreno Valley to spend the rest of our trip with our family. We had to stop at the San Diego Temple on the way out of town. This is one of my most favorite temples. I remember when it was first built and I went to the open house and dedication. It is such a gorgeous temple!
We arrived in Moreno Valley just in time for a yummy dinner Toni had prepared for us.
