After Adam's half marathon we finished packing up all of our things and headed on a little road trip to California to visit our family. It was actually a pretty bad idea to go on a road trip just hours after a half marathon. Adam got so stiff and sore from just sitting still in a car that he could barely walk. To make things worse we got stuck in the canyon just past St. George for 2 hours while they were doing road construction and it was scorching hot outside so we were glad our car didn't overheat like the tons of other cars that were pulled over. We just drove half way the first day and stayed in Vegas for the night.
Brooklyn was a pretty good traveler but she got pretty antsy when we were stuck in the canyon. She hates when the car stops. So I got in the back with her and fed her lots of food and took pictures to distract her. We bought her a new car seat right before we left and we didn't know that we left the infant head piece in it so she was slouching the whole way there.
We finally made it to Vegas way later than we planned. We stayed the night at Micah and Whitney's house. We went to dinner with them and we were off again in the morning. Brooklyn loved their little doggie. She chased her all around and we even found her eating dog food a few times. Gross! And right when we first go there Brooklyn fell really hard into their coffee table and split her lip open and cut her gums. Poor little girl was pretty traumatized.

On the way out of Vegas we stopped at the temple because none of us had ever seen it. It was seriously too hot to function so we only walked around for like 2 minutes. There is something so beautiful to me about palm trees next to temples.
We were on our way to San Diego from there. Tom and Toni were out of town for a few more days so we thought it would be fun to stay in San Diego until they got home. We stopped in Baker for lunch at Jack in the Box and were disappointed that the thermometer no longer worked:(
We finally made it to our hotel in San Diego after way too much traffic and a hurricane warning. We were so glad to be there!!
We drove over to Coronado for the evening. The bridge to get there way the most beautiful thing and the whole city was just gorgeous. We found a Mexican restaurant for dinner and to food was amazing.
Then we walked over to the Hotel Del Coronado and walked along the beach. Adam was so sore that it wasn't really much fun for him and he could barely walk. But the hotel is amazing and we decided we would come back one day and stay in it. There was also a beautiful wedding going on right one the beach. We had fun checking it all out and enjoying the music. We loved the whole vibe of Coronado. I can't wait to go back and explore more.
yay! so glad we got to see you guys! i'm stealing that pic of brooklyn & i :) love it! she's a doll. and yeah...our house is just not baby proof :( poor brooky! hopefully next time she comes to visit she'll have a playmate??
