Brooklyn - 11 Months

Another month has gone by and Brooklyn is now 11 months old, which means only one more month until she is a whole year old. She is no longer a little baby and is now a toddler with her own little personality. I love that every stage is something new and exciting and I love watching her grow and learn new things.

Here are a few things I want to remember about Brooklyn at 11 months:
  • Size 4 diapers and 12 months clothes.
  • She is starting to want less and less formula. She is eating a lot of solid foods. It will be nice when I don't have to buy formula any more.
  • She can tell us exactly what she wants. If we hand her something and she doesn't want it she shakes her head.
  • She has 5 teeth but she has 2-3 that are about to break through. She is in a lot of pain right now:(
  • She can stand up on her own and has taken a few really small steps. She won't stand up if you try to make her do it but she will stand up all on her own when she doesn't realize she is doing it. I'm sure she'll be walking by her 1st birthday.
  • Always busy moving around any playing and getting into everything!
  • I've been reading more with her lately and she loves it. But I think she likes to open and shut the books more than she likes looking at them.
  • Can crawl all the way up the stairs. We have to watch her very carefully around the stairs because she is fearless.
  • She can get off the couch all by herself. She knows to turn around and get her legs down first or she will get on her stomach and reach her hands down until they hit the ground and rolls off.
  • Hates the grass and the wind so bad!
  • Still does great in her car seat but the second we get to our destination she starts squirming and wants out.
  • She loves drinking out of a straw. We just bought her a sippy cup that has a straw and it is her favorite thing.
  • She is so hard to take pictures of now. She does not want to sit still of look at the camera.
  • Still sleeps all through the night. Usually goes to sleep about 8:30 and wakes up about 7:30 or 8:00. Bliss!!
  • Her hair is getting a lot longer now and I can put it in little pony tails on the top of her head. It's still a dirty blond/light brown color.
  • She has bright blue eyes and everyone comments on how beautiful they are.
  • Still is so obsessed with food. She will eat anything that she thinks is food. And if she sees food and doesn't get some she screams at the top of her lungs.
  • She loves to play with pens and pencils and has starting coloring on paper.
  • Loves to play with her walker and cruise around the whole house. Once she hits a wall she keeps pushing and pushing until you turn her around.
  • She can say Mama and Dada and calls us by name.
  • Loves dogs.
  • She has the cutest little laugh but she is usually a silent laugh-er (like her mama) and it takes a lot to actually get her to make a sound while laughing.
  • Hates getting her diaper changed. I have to pin her down while she is screaming to get her diaper strapped on.
  • Can wave goodbye and has recently started giving hugs and kisses.
  • Usually loves the pool unless she is hungry or tired.
  • We are constantly saying "look how cute she is right now." I'm pretty sure we think everything she does is the cutest thing ever.
