Traveling To Florida

Sunday, July 4th

We woke up bright and early to make our 8:00 AM flight to Miami. Special thanks to Sarah for driving us to the airport. We were so excited to start our fun vacation. We got all boarded on our plane and ready for take off and the pilot said there was something wrong with the plane that would only take 10 minutes to fix. 30 minutes later he told us they actually need to repair a part so it was going to take another hour. They let everyone get off the plane if they wanted to but we just stayed in our seats and tried to get some sleep since we were really tired. We finally were able to take off.
We had a layover in Houston and we thought we were going to miss our connecting since we only had a couple of minutes to catch it since our first flight was delayed. Luckily our connecting flight was also delayed about an hour and a half so we were able to grab some food and relax a bit before we had to jump on our next flight.

We finally made it to Miami at abut 5:00 at night. We grabbed our luggage and realized we had forgot to get a hotel for the night. We kept meaning to before we left but never did so we saw a sign for Days Inn and called them and booked a room. We stepped outside to wait for the hotel shuttle to pick us up and immediately decided we will never live in Florida. The humidity was horrible. And to make it worse our shuttle driver forgot to come get us so we had to wait outside in the gross humidity for an hour.

By the time we finally got in our room we were starving. I found a restaurant that had really good reviews on Yelp so we walked about a mile to it and it was closed because it was the 4th of July. Bummer. So we walked back to our room and ordered pizza in. Delicious!!

We were both SO tired from traveling that day that we just stayed in our hotel room the rest of the night and watched TV and went to bed early. We could hear fireworks from the hotel that night. Adam went outside and watched them for a bit but I was just too tired to get out of bed and watch them. I did watch the New York fireworks on TV so I didn't feel too bad about missing the Miami ones.
