Allan Browning Egbert

1951 – 2013

Allan Browning Egbert, age 62, unexpectedly passed away June 21st, from a massive heart attack, while riding his mountain bike in the hills of Draper, Utah.

Allan was born February 4, 1951 in Provo, Utah to Hal Riggs and Nancy Browning Egbert. Raised in Southern California, he graduated from Fullerton High School where he then served for 2 years in the United States Army. On March 16, 1979 he married his sweetheart Andi Winter in the Los Angeles LDS Temple where they were sealed for time and all eternity. They raised their four children in Utah where he enjoyed a career in dental ceramics.

Allan enjoyed all sorts of outdoor activities with his family including mountain biking, hiking, fishing, hunting, golfing, shooting guns and bows, and weekends at the cabin. He adored his four grandchildren and they loved spending time with their “Papa.” Allan was a hard-working, giving man who always put his family and others before himself. He served diligently in many capacities in the LDS church and had a strong testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ. He was our hero and our friend as he led us in righteous paths by example.

Allan is survived by his wife of 34 years, Andi Egbert; children Mark (Michelle) Egbert, Becky (Adam) Young, Liz Egbert, and Katie (Danny) Wiseman; grandchildren Daxton and Dallas Egbert, Brooklyn Young, and Carter Wiseman. He is also survived by his parents, Hal and Nancy Egbert; siblings, Marilynn (Kay) Gillespie, Janie (Jim) Gastelum, Martha (Ivan) Flint and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, and close friends. The family would like to thank those who came to Allan’s aid on the mountain and were there by his side as he passed away.

Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral to celebrate his life on Saturday, June 29^th 2013 at 10:00am at the chapel located at 13112 South 700 East in Draper, Utah. A viewing will be held an hour before the funeral and the night before from 7:00pm-9:00pm at the same location. In lieu of flowers please give a donation to the Allan Egbert Memorial Fund at America First Credit Union.
