Adam cut his finger off when he was little and they were able to sew it back on. But it's been hurting him a lot lately and the nail grows in really weird and gets snagged on things all of the time so he finally went to a hand surgeon. We ended up having surgery on it and they grafted part of the nail bed from his toe onto his finger to try and get it to grow better. They are hoping they can not only make it not hurt but also make it look a lot better. The surgery went well but the recovery was a little rough. He was in a lot of pain and had a hard time doing anything. And the bandages were so big and got really annoying. I don't think we expected the recovery to be so hard. And it was really hard on me having to take care of Adam and the girls all on my own. We had a couple rough days. Luckily the worst is over and he healing up great! It's going to take a good 6-9 months to let the nail grow and see if the graft worked. We are crossing our fingers!
