Bringing Harper Home & Meeting Her Big Sister

I had been looking forward to the moment Brooklyn would meet her new little sister. I really was so sad that Brooklyn couldn't come to the hospital to meet Harper because of the lock down during flu season but we tried to still make it special. Liz, Matt and my mom came to the hospital and brought Brooklyn when we were ready to leave the hospital with Harper. They waited downstairs in the waiting room and waited for us to come down. I bought Brooklyn a 'big sister' shirt that she was so excited to wear. Adam, Harper and I came out of the elevator and there was Brooklyn waiting for us. She was a little shy and came and gave me a hug and hung onto my leg. I could tell she really wanted to see her little sister but was a little nervous. We all bent down around the car seat and Brooklyn got to see Harper for the first time. She reached her hand out a shyly touched Harper. It was so sweet.
We were a little rushed because the nurse had to walk down with us and make sure the car seat was in the car correctly so we hurried out to the car and put both girls in their car seats and we were ready to go home. Brooklyn loved that Harper was sitting right next to her in the car and she made sure to keep an eye on Harper the whole way home.
When we got home we immediately got Harper out of her car seat and set her on a blanket on the floor and let Brooklyn play with her. It was so sweet seeing them together for the first time. Brooklyn wanted to keep giving Harper her binky and she ran and got a little blanket to make sure Harper wasn't cold. Then we let Brooklyn hold Harper. It was so nice to finally be home with our family of four!!
